How pest control companies get recommended by AI

Here's how to be one of them — honestly, and without touching your website.
1. Nail your Google Business Profile
Google's local data feeds AI answers heavily. Set your primary category to “Pest control service” and list every service explicitly (termite inspection and treatment, rodent removal, ant control, bed bugs, wasp and bee removal, quarterly prevention plans). Homeowners describe the specific pest to AI — the company whose profile plainly matches gets recommended.
2. Answer the urgent, specific searches
Pest problems are described precisely: “termites in my deck,” “mice in the attic.” Post occasional profile updates about the pests common in your area and season. If you offer same-day or emergency service, say so clearly — and only if it's true. Assistants surface businesses whose public presence matches what the homeowner needs right now.
3. Reviews that name the pest
“Got rid of our ant problem in one visit” beats a bare five stars: it builds your rating and tells AI exactly what you handle well. After every job, ask the happy customer for an honest review that mentions the work. (Never buy or incentivize reviews — it's deceptive and against the rules.)
4. Get on the directories AI reads — and show your license
Angi, Yelp, BBB, Thumbtack, and the local “best pest control in [city]” lists are exactly what assistants cite. Claim and complete those listings with a consistent name, address, and phone. Pest control is a licensed trade — state your real license and any certifications, because concrete, verifiable trust signals are what AI repeats back to homeowners.
