Set your primary category to “Plumber,” list every service explicitly (drain cleaning, water heater repair and install, leak detection, repiping, sewer line repair), and keep your service area, hours, and emergency availability accurate. AI recommends the business whose profile plainly answers what the homeowner needs.
2. Win the emergency searches
Plumbing is the most urgency-driven trade there is — burst pipes, backed-up sewers, no hot water. If you genuinely offer fast or 24/7 response, say so clearly on your profile and posts. When a homeowner asks “emergency plumber near me,” assistants surface the businesses that obviously match what's needed right now. (Only claim it if it's true — a missed emergency call becomes a review AI will also read.)
3. Reviews after every job
Nothing moves “best plumber near me” like a steady stream of recent, honest reviews that mention the actual job — “fixed our water heater same day.” Build the habit: after every completed job, ask the happy customer for a quick review. (Never buy or incentivize reviews — it's deceptive and against the rules.)
4. Get on the directories AI reads
Angi, Yelp, BBB, Thumbtack, and the local “best plumbers in [city]” lists are exactly what assistants cite. Claim and complete those listings with a consistent name, address, and phone. And state your real credentials — licensed, bonded, insured — because those concrete trust signals are what AI repeats back to homeowners.
